A condemnation Statement The crime of bombing a tourist break building by Saudi aircrafts and its alliance Al-athri Area, Arhab Directorate ,Sana’a Governorate ,23,8,2017

In a terrible crime documented by the legal center, the warplanes of the Saudi Aggression Coalition attacked a tourist rest  building called “Youth Park” in Beit Al-athri area, Arhab  governorate in Sana’a, which resulted in the killing and wounding of more than 70 civilians who were inside this building taking a rest of sleep.

This is considered as a grave violation of international humanitarian law, which criminalizes the targeting of civilians, neighborhoods  and civilian facilities. The purely civilian nature of the incident and the horrific number of victims confirm that the Saudi forces and their allies violated the most important principles and rules of war in accordance with the international humanitarian law ,making this crime to be considered as a war crime.

This crime is an extension of the series of crimes committed by the Saudi forces and their allies against the Yemeni people.

Legal Center for Rights and Development Condemns and denounces this heinous crime against humanity and holds Saudi Arabia and its alliance the responsibility  for this crime and for  the past crimes.

Legal Center for Rights and Development calls for the investigation and criminal accountability of the coalition leaders and all those found to be involved in these crimes. The United Nations and the Security Council also hold  the responsibility for its shameful silence and evasion of its duties that encouraged Saudi Arabia and its alliance to commit more war crimes against the Yemeni people in a brutally way.

Legal Center renews its appeal to the international community, human rights organizations and all the honorable and free people of the world to shoulder their moral and humanitarian responsibility in supporting the oppressed Yemeni people, condemning the horrific crimes committed by the Saudi Coalition and pressuring the United Nations and specifically the Security Council to carry out their legal and moral duty to protect civilians and installations, and to stop the war and all forms of aggression against Yemen and its people.
